A New Adventure

One of my favorite Bible verses is Exodus 18:17 where Moses' Father-in-law, Jethro, after observing his organizational structure makes the unsolicited observation, "What you are doing is not good." What a way to foster family relationships!

The voice of the administrative or managerial among us can certainly seem less than friendly. But speaking as one of Jethro's kin, you have to understand that we say these things with the best of intentions.

It is in the spirit of Jethro that I begin this blog.

My desire is to finish well in life and one of the ways I believe I can do that is to help others. In the process, I also believe I will learn and that my life will be fuller. The way I understand it, that's how things are supposed to work.

Developing Your Church Organization is the name of this blog but it is more than that. It is at this date the culmination of about 5 years of writing in the form of a manuscript that is 90% complete and plans for self-publishing and seminar offerings. I trust this will be the first steps toward engaging others on the topic of making many local churches more effective.
